— WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Hyaluronic acid:
much more than a cosmetic active ingredient
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a molecule naturally produced by our body, present in almost all our tissues: skin, joints, eyes, cartilage, vascular walls. Its fundamental property is its exceptional ability to capture and retain water — up to 1,000 times its own weight.
It is this property that gives it its role as a natural lubricant and moisturizing cushion for tissues. In the skin, it maintains the volume, suppleness and resistance of the extracellular matrix. In the joints, it reduces friction and protects cartilage. In the eyes, it ensures the hydration of the vitreous humor.
Long confined to aesthetics (injections, creams), hyaluronic acid taken orally acts from the inside — directly in the tissues, where topical treatments cannot reach.

SCIENTIFIC REFERENCE Hyaluronic Acid: A Key Molecule in Skin Aging Papakonstantinou E., Roth M., Karakiulakis G. Dermato-Endocrinology · 2012 · Vol. 4(3) · pp. 253–258 Access publication → https://doi.org/10.4161/derm.21923 |
This reference review establishes that from the age of 25, hyaluronic acid production gradually decreases. By age 50, skin concentration has dropped by nearly 50%. The authors demonstrate that this loss is directly involved in tissue dehydration, decreased skin volume, loss of elasticity, and increased vulnerability to environmental aggressors.
What this means in concrete terms: visible skin aging is not just a question of collagen. It is primarily a loss of intratissue water — and hyaluronic acid is the molecule that retains it.
“Skin doesn’t age because it lacks collagen. It ages because it loses the water that gives it volume.”
— WHY WE LACK IT
A silent loss,
with visible consequences
The decrease in hyaluronic acid is a natural process — but accelerated by several daily factors:
FACTORS THAT ACCELERATE HYALURONIC ACID LOSS |
Age |
Synthesis decreases from age 25. By age 50: -50% in the skin. By age 70: almost absent in the deep layers of the dermis. |
Oxidative stress |
Free radicals fragment and degrade HA chains. Pollution, tobacco, UV rays and chronic stress are the main culprits. |
Chronic inflammation |
Inflammatory enzymes (hyaluronidases, MMPs) accelerate HA degradation in the extracellular matrix. |
Dehydration |
Insufficient water intake reduces HA's ability to act as a water reservoir in tissues. |
Sun exposure |
UVA penetrates the deep dermis and directly degrades HA stores, accelerating skin aging. |
The consequences gradually become apparent: dull and less bouncy skin, less flexible joints, a sensation of chronic dryness, increased sensitivity to aggressions. These signs are often mistakenly attributed solely to fatigue or stress.

Antioxidant Defense:
action at the skin, cell, and tissue interface
ANTIOXIDANT DEFENSE was designed to act simultaneously on the two mechanisms responsible for HA loss: oxidative stress, which degrades it, and lack of renewal, which depletes it. The formula combines direct intake of bioavailable HA with protective active ingredients that limit its degradation.

KEY ACTIVE INGREDIENTS · MECHANISMS OF ACTION |
ExceptionHYAL® Star (240 mg) |
Patented form of very low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (218 mg of pure HA). The reduced size of the molecules allows for superior intestinal absorption and tissue bioavailability compared to standard HA. Supports the extracellular matrix and deep tissue hydration. |
Quercetin (427.5 mg) |
Potent flavonoid that inhibits metalloproteinases (MMPs) — enzymes that degrade HA and collagen. Reduces low-grade inflammation via the NF-κB pathway. Stabilizes mast cells, useful for allergic conditions and reactive skin. |
Setria® L-Glutathione (375 mg) |
Main intracellular antioxidant. Protects HA from degradation by free radicals. Supports hepatic detoxification and maintains cellular redox potential via the GSH/GSSG cycle. |
Vitamin C (150 mg · 187.5% NRV) |
Essential cofactor for collagen and HA synthesis. Activates the Nrf2 pathway which induces endogenous antioxidant enzymes (glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase). Regenerates glutathione and vitamin E. |
"Supplying hyaluronic acid without protecting what you supply is like filling a leaky bucket."
— IS IT FOR YOU?
For those who want to
act on their cellular capital
ANTIOXIDANT DEFENSE is for those who wish to support their tissue hydration, skin radiance, and cellular integrity from within. It is particularly relevant if you are concerned about:
CONCERNED PROFILES |
Dehydrated or dull skin |
Lack of radiance, dull complexion, tight-feeling skin. The answer doesn't come from the surface but from within the tissues. |
Early signs of aging |
Loss of facial volume, dehydration lines, less plump skin. Act on HA reserves from age 30. |
High oxidative stress |
Demanding lifestyle, urban pollution, sun exposure, intense physical activity. Free radicals primarily degrade HA. |
Joints and mobility |
HA is a constituent of synovial fluid. Its renewal supports joint flexibility and cartilage lubrication. |
Reactive or atopic skin |
Quercetin stabilizes mast cells and reduces skin hypersensitivity. The formula also supports the skin barrier. |
Recommended dosage
2 to 3 capsules per day, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach or before meals, to optimize the absorption of HA and antioxidants. A course of 2 to 3 months, renewable — effects on skin quality and tissue hydration are generally observed from the 6th week.
Precautions
Food supplement not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
